The role of Editorial Guidelines is to present issues relevant to AEU members, create an awareness that members make decisions that guide the work of their Union, and present arguments for and against proposals.

Issues will be canvassed in a timely fashion. While Ed.Lines is the vehicle for the consideration of issues in greater depth than in Reporter and AEU Circulars, the emphasis will be on presenting news to members. For this reason final decisions about the content of at least two pages will be delayed as long as possible in the production process.

In this way Ed.Lines should make a contribution to democratic processes within the AEU and contribute to sustaining the growth of activism in the Union.
