PROCESS FOR SEEKING PERMANENT HOURS VARIATIONS (INCREASES FOR PERMANENT PART TIME TEACHERS)

Teacher members who are seeking a permanent variation to hours (usually permanent part-timers seeking increased permanent hours but also applicable to any who may wish to permanently reduce hours) should complete the DoE form Application for Permanent Variation of Working Hours [FTE] available on both the DoE intranet and on the AEU website under the menu item ‘pro formas’.

Members should have taken this action within employer notification of annual staffing process timeframes but are still able to make such application to your Learning Services HR Manager.

The consideration of such applications is managed on an ongoing basis on an ‘if can accommodate, then will’ basis. Many variables come into play in requests such as geographical location, skill sets, willingness to transfer, to name some.

You should request an acknowledgement of receipt of your application from the HR manager. If you have previously applied and not been accommodated, then you should still be active on their books. It is advisable to check that this is the case.
