Three/four-term year update

It’s becoming clear that the uncertainty over whether Tasmania shifts to a four-term year in 2013 is causing considerable angst as members attempt to plan for special events and holidays.

We sympathise with this difficult situation but unfortunately are not privy to the Government’s plan or what the new school term dates may be if it decides to force through change.

The Education Minister has indicated he will not abide by the decision of the independent Industrial Commission which is expected to hand down its decision soon.
We will advise you as soon as possible of any developments.

How the AEU helped me?

“Thanks to the AEU the case of my transfer from the TSI to a job with the Polytechnic was won. I had a new baby on the way at the time and really needed the security. I was lucky I was a member of the AEU and got the right advice!” John Kluyt
