AEU Log of Claims for DoE Teachers

Introduction

After extensive consultation with a significant number of our teacher members and Workplace Representatives during a six month period, the following issues have been identified by our members and endorsed by our Branch Council, as those which are the most important and as such form our bargaining agenda for the next teachers’ agreement.

We believe that the issues identified under the three broad themes below, cover a range of issues which require constructive discussion and positive solutions and have the ability to lead to outcomes which can benefit both students and teachers.

It is crucial that these negotiations are undertaken in good faith and that at the negotiating table the employer has representatives which have actual decision making authority and are therefore able to negotiate rather than merely state positions. Unnecessary delays as a result of a failure to negotiate will be viewed by the AEU as an unacceptable situation...

The AEU has produced a bumper sticker, 'Good for teachers, Great for kids'.  If you want to order some for your school click on the image below or in the sidebar.

 Alternative Education

A key part of the AEU’s log of claims is to address lack of alternative education settings in Tasmania.  A one day conference was held in Launceston on 15th October where local, national and international initiatives are being showcased.   Conference presentations can be viewed on the Alternative Education Page
